The Sd.Kfz. 251 was designed by the Germans as a troop transport and support for infantry. At the end of 1944, many of these vehicles fell into American hands, which began to experiment with them. They gutted the inside of the Sd.Kfz. 251 and placed a rocket rig consisting of 60 tubes with 117mm (4.6-inch) rockets on top. They named this vehicle the Sd.Kfz. 251 "calliope" Designer TigerAce1945
